Long Overdue

Here's a personal project I started today - some line art that will hopefully turn into a series of lazy Snorlax

Then a bear happened.

It's been a while since I posted anything --- I promise I have stuff to post, I'm just lazy about getting it up here. >.<

This guy came out of some doodle practices, working in the grad lab at practice.  I forgot my USB at home today so I decided to do some Preston Blair studies from his book.  Then I started working the shape concepts into some new design ideas for my main character for my thesis.

Then a bear happened.

So I decided to try and paint him in Photoshop because I never really paint.  Tossed in some rim lighting, and critiques/links to tutorials are very much welcome!

Took a break from other work to make an attempt at digital painting.

Had a bag of goldfish, so decided to try and paint the character on the bag.  Starting small.

Then some 5 minute gestures that were part of my own studying.  I started to move into value slightly.  I realize I need to position my subject on my paper better as I end up cutting off the feet.  Really need to work on centering.

Old Animation Post

My final project for animation 1 last year.  I never got around to posting it up on anything, so I decided to do so today.

More roughs from Talarom - very initial concept designs - will get better scans eventually, just wanted to post what I did today.

Future post coming with some gestures from the workshop when I'm not so tired.

Drawing on Easter

Continuing to be hard at work, I did a color study of on of Amras's head drawings.  Also did a few more studies, using Glenn Keane's Flynn Ryder for reference.  Then there are some initial roughs for environment/layouts.  Also a random sketch and a study of Rapunzel from Tangled.
